Our choir was founded in 1976 here in beautiful Vancouver, BC. We currently have approximately 30 singers who not only enjoying singing our varied repertoire of German songs, but who also enjoy the friendship and Gemütlichkeit that are so much part of our group.
Our singers are primarily German-speaking, but also include singers from a variety of backgrounds. We love to sing German folk songs, classical repertoire, and compositions from contemporary German composers. Under the leadership of our director, Dr. Sergio Pires, and our pianist, Tanya Marumo, we prepare our repertoire for well-attended concerts at our home base, the Vancouver Alpen Club. We also enjoy sharing our songs in the community and connecting with other choirs and other performance groups in Vancouver. It is an honour to be co-hosting this 42nd Sängerfest with our friends, the Austria Vancouver Club Melody Choir. We wish all our friends from the Nord Pazifischer Sängerbund a memorable Sängerfest filled with music and friendship. It is great to be here with you all! |
